What does the plot reveal?
Justified: City Primeval picks up a decade following the conclusion of the original series. After spending time in Miami, raising his teenage daughter, and carrying out his duties as a U.S. Marshal. Given finds himself in Detroit to take down sociopathic criminal Clement Mansell and his attorney. In this new story, the focus is on three central figures, Raylan, Clement Mansell, and a female defense attorney Carolyn Wilder. Carolyn Wilder finds herself entangled with Clement Mansell, constrained by circumstances beyond her control as if bound at the wrists and ankles. ” The story is a three handler”, showrunner Michael Dinner told Entertainment Weekly.
However, there exists a fourth character that plays a significant role- the city of Detroit itself. Raylan finds himself in unfamiliar territory like a fish out of water, as he navigates a place that he does not comprehend as intimately as his Kentucky roots or Miami residence. This forms the essence of the story- Raylan’s struggle to adapt and survive in a foreign environment.
